Soon his brews gained a solid following for their quality, strength, and flavor. A representative for Mother Earth brewing, and a friend of Pete’s, took notice and helped him obtain a job there to legitimize his endeavor while further honing his craft.
The Brewery 99 opened, and has quickly gained popularity, thanks to the excellent social community created by the patrons within on these special Fridays and Saturdays.
Put aside some time to experience it for yourself; you'll be glad you did.
One of these individuals is the, it's fair to call him: legendary Pete Frey. He's the owner and proprietor of this beating heart of downtown New Bern, The Brewery 99.
The brewing arts started for Frey as a curiosity and love for beer, which quickly evolved into a bit of a hooch business between his friends for use at parties.

Craftsmanship like this takes concentration (and a good "profile").
Never let looks deceive you, especially in this town. What may outwardly appear to be a small shack located in the parking lot of Artisan Square is actually a quite happening brewery and bar for the denizens who know where to look for it.
The taps offer a variety of craft beers that one would be hard pressed to find elsewhere, and almost always includes one beer of Frey’s own making.
